The rate of crime in our communities remains unacceptable. While some progress has been made in its reduction, it’s clear that too many of us feel unsafe.
According to the United States Surgeon General, loneliness is a public health crisis. Unfortunately, isolation has risen and community engagement has dropped. We must empower community and volunteer groups to bring people together.
Our city must excel at the basics. For example, our families deserve timely waste and recycling services. They also should receive water bills that are easy to access and read.
Baltimore can achieve the big things while also excelling at the basics. Together, we can create a more innovative city – especially as it pertains to attracting new businesses to our city, enhancing our public transportation, and confronting the climate crisis.
